Hi hwnev

You have a couple of good options that I can think of:

First of all if you are using XP then just use System Restore to restore your
system to a time when
Adobe was working satisfactorily. That will of course restore the spyware so
you will have to run
Spybot & AdAware again but this time take a closer look at what items are
recommended for
quarantining and if you see anything that might be associated with Adobe, don't
quarantine it but
leave it intact and see what effect it has. Similarly if you have GoBack, you
can restore to a
suitable past date.

The second option is to restore the items quarantined by both Spybot & AdaWare
and run both programs
again taking more care about what you quarantine. To restore with AdAware just
use the Quarantine
Manager by clicking the icon that resembles a padlock on the top right toolbar;
all the quarantined
items will appear along with the dates they were quarantined and you can choose
which you wish to
restore. To restore with Spybot just click the Recovery button, which produces
a list of
quarantined items, which you can restore.

In answer to the question

>>I WAS THINKING ( dangerous, I know) that maybe I could /should uninstall
>>Adaware and Spybot

Not a good idea, recycle that thought

well,
After years if no problems with my PC I got all of the evil browser
hijack/spware/ad crap. I have managed to get rid of MOST OF IT, though
not all.
Apparently in the process of hunting and killing all of this stupid
garbage, it has affected my Adobe Elements2 program. Some of the
functions withhin the program are just MISSING. So I tried to unistall
and re-install it...Would not GO...went to 99% installation and just
STOPPED DEAD. I called Adobe and SINCE the new 3.0 version which I can
not afford is out they offered me help for $39.00 per hour...SO I got
a copy of the Adobe Elements program on Ebay, thinking maybe there was
something wrong with my CD...Paid only just a few bucks, so it was no
hardship really. IT DID THE SAME THING. Only went to 99% installation
and just stopped like the original one.
I have had Adaware and Spybot for awhile, IN FACT right about the
time the Adobe program screwed up is when I installed those! Is it
possible that these programs see parts of the Adobe program as a virus
or something so they are not allowing it to install? I really need to
reinstall it. I haven't installed or uninstalled any programs for
months (well, maybe some litel nothing ones) so I haven't experienced
any other problems. I have two other Adobe programs on here, Acrobat
reader and Adobe Photo Deluxe Business edition. Both are functioning.
I miss some of the components of this program and would love to get
it back on here. I WAS THINKING ( dangerous, I know) that maybe I
could /should uninstall Adaware and Spybot and try to reinstall the
Adobe program. ANY SUGGESTIONS or advice would be appreciated.
