Parallel cables aren't supported as a network.
You can only create a peer to peer conection with a parallel by using
Direct Cable connection. This is not a network!  It doesn't use
networking protocals or clients.  It is only supported for file
transfers in Windows.
This type of connection is limited to 1.4 Mbps when using ECP mode, or
150 Kbps in Bi-Directional mode.
