Hi Atryeu

You are becoming an expert! When you have to do a manual shutdown then
scandisk usually runs at the
next boot to check for problems and fix any it finds. I am afraid ME is the
pits! Computers are
getting cheaper all the time and of course more reliable. My experience has
been to replace a pc
while you present one is still working reasonably well, then you can make a
gradual change to the
new pc, transferring data and personalising the new one in a leisurely manner.

Hi Rupert!

Thanks :) I woke up this morning to a whole new problem but managed
to fix it as well. The system wouldn't shut down last night through
the Start menu so I had to shut it down myself and I guess something
happened that doesn't usually happen because it wouldn't even boot up
in safe mode this morning. I fixed the problem through Dos I guess
though. I still don't know what was wrong. I figured today would be
a nice day to get busy backing the important files up again since
things are acting up.

Thanks for the help! Hopefully this poor computer will last awhile so
I don't have to bother somebody again :) I badly need a new system :(

Thanks!!
