While holding deference to Janet, D., what kind of Net connection do you have?

Again holding deference to Janet, the light staying on, could be a sign 
that, the data cable is on upside down.

If it couldn't read the second disk but, the light stayed on, I would agree 
with Janet, that the drive needs to be cleaned.  If could read the second 
disk but, the light stayed on, I would check to see that the data cable is 
on correctly.
