Take extra care when installing this adapter. Make sure you put the pin 1 mark on the correct side of the laptop hard drive. This adapter also powers the unit, incorrect installtion can burn-out the controller board on the drive.
Pin 1 is often towards the 4 extra pins (jumper positions). Check the top label of the drive! Make sue you install the power connector and attach the opposite side the right way around too.
