You load a small prog onto both PCs called PC-Linq, supplied on CD and then you can look and see what data you wish to transfer and just drag and drop in a dual window showing the contents of both PCs You can in fact transfer any files/ data you wish, including software but the software will not function because it has to be installed and registered in the Registry. Having said that, there are some older dos programs that can simply be transferred and they will function. Someone responded with a website that sells a transfer cable. I was told by someone in the computer store that if both have WinXP, you can transfer data simply with a USB cable with the appropriate connectors on each end. Well, he also told me that you can only transfer data, that is photos, documents, videos, etc., but you can't transfer software. One bear and no virus found in this outgoing message.
