Try starting up in Safe Mode, Hold or press the F8 key once a second
to get to the menu where you can choose safe mode. Depending on your
laptop, you might have to press F1 or the ESC key to get to it.

In safe mode, everything will be bigger and uglier! If your computer
can populate the menus fine, then you might have spyware or some other
nastiware!

Run the gambit of programs that we always recommend, adaware, spybot
search and destroy, microsofts (giant) program and the like.

If that doesnt fix it, give us more info!

You might want to do a system restore back to when it was working to
resolve the issue too!
