It really isn't necessary to choose a browser as default if you have a
shortcut located on the desktop or the quick launch bar. In my Firefox I
didn't see an option to choose it as default, it's not now. But I did see in
tools, options the choice to have it ask whether I want it to be default.
That will enable me to make it default if I wish.
