You might want to try cleaning the inside ofyour disk drive cleaning kits 
are available at Kmart for about twentybucks.

Have you tried to burn any other kinds of CDs? The one that you are 
trying now could be copyrighted, and you may have to use a program 
like anycd to get rid of it. Also, if possible, try a free version of 
like sonic or nero (or winamp) and see what happens.
