I use Ace Utilities reg cleaner which only messed up once but I have GoBack installed and used GoBack to restore my system. Here are some I have seen recommended:

I find it hard to believe that System Restore would or could not restore a previous registry but if in doubt get GoBack :-) In any case, you have a new computer and don't D/L & install many programs so the only cleaning you need to do is with a duster LOL!
