Jim:

If most people [including you maybe] and the members of your family group have
not set that, including your sister, she could find herself added to a [legal,
or illegal] porn group if she has not gone to the link I produced earlier and
blocked the "invite" and "Add" authority.

Its nothing to do with Yahoo mail, or any e-mail, its the Yahoo groups
membership that allows or not. Yahoo groups has always dumped the option to
add people under any circumstances because its a violation of their right to
privacy. Yahoo has to adhere to legalities.

As another exercise, access your "Invite" link on the right hand side of your
Yahoo groups homepage. You will see this:

Quote:
The Invite feature lets you send email to invite people to join your group.
This is one way to extend your online community and keep connected with other
people who are interested in this type of group.
(Please use this feature responsibly and don't spam people you don't know.

Invitation abuse can lead to inactivation of your account.)

Enter email addresses or Yahoo! IDs. You may enter up to 50 email addresses OR
Yahoo! IDs.
Please enter one person per line. For example: [EMAIL PROTECTED] pat2000
End Quote:

The fact is that if you dont know the Yahoo features of your yahoogroup, you
cannot advise your members as to how deal with their membership so they dont
find themselves automatically invited or added to groups that are not of their
choice. If they dont make the appropriate changes to their preferences, Yahoo
cannot be blamed.
