This might be a problem with your antivirus software.  Check the
e-mail scanning features, they may be causing the mail to not connect
properly.

Who said Outlook Express is a good pop client??  It really isn't.  In
fact, it hasn't been updated since 2001 and it's just a horrible
upgrade from "Internet Mail and News".
