This sounds like a bad mic cord. If the ground wire, i.e. the shielded part of the cable is open you will get hum and noise, but you usually don't get audio at all. So there may be another problem. If you can, try another microphone. Another thing to check is whether the mic plug is all the way into the jack. Jim ------------------------ Yahoo!
