That was a smart ass reply. To the original poster: computer speed depends on several factors. For that matter so does whether you really need speed. What do you do with your computer besides email an browsing. If you play top level action games or create video or graphics you probably need a lot of power and speed. Most other jobs don't need that much. If you still need to know, try Googling for benchmarks. Your computer may be slow if: it takes seconds to ooen most applications. if loading files also takes a long time. if startup takes a very long time, more than a minute and a half. If you don't know how fast your computer is, it may be fast enough. If you need the bleeding edge computer, be prepared to pay big buks. But look at more than just speed and performance. Look at what is included on your computer. You may not need all the bells and whistles, especially if you already have them, like a DVD burner, etc. [you can see that I don't know what are currently the latest bells and whistles.] If you have a large hard drive and it is using no more that half the capacity, you don't need a bigger drive. This is the kind of things to consider, not just speed. I have a Sony with a 2.8 G processor, and an older one with only 2.4 G. I can't tell the differences. The older one only has 512 M of ram, the newer one 1 G, still no difference. Most users can't notice speed differences as much os feature differences. Jim ------------------------ Yahoo!
