In SYSTEM's "startup and recovery," I unchecked "detect OS for 30 seconds at bootup." (I had two choices, and thought that would help...) Now it doesn't boot past the POST. I can't get into safe mode..
I tried Fixmbr and fixboot commands from the recovery console of a WIN 2000 cd and they didn't work... Now I'm going to remove the hdd and set it up externally. What files do I need to replace to fix boot.ini? And I just tried to reload WIN 2000 ontop of itself and I had four different partions or whatever they were---though only one was C: drive, the other three were "unknown." But it wouldn't let me install the OS on the existing "C". I don't want to do a clean install because there is a lot of stuff... ------------------------ Yahoo!
