Have a look here Tom

Do you have your Antivirus program set to scan outgoing mails, if so turn it
off outgoing scans and
see if this resolves the matter. This does seem to be a problem in particular
with Norton Internet
Security, see here:

http://search.symantec.com/custom/update/query.html?filter=all&qt=0x800CCC0F&nh=10&hitsceil=100&st=1&context=hho&x=11&y=6

The intermittent problems are the worst and usually suggest server problems but
you could perhaps
work your way through the check list on the first link above. Also take a look
here, there is a
similar problem listed towards the bottom of the page and Norton seems to be
the culprit. Getting
late now here on Scotland so signing off, catch up with you again tomorrow.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server
problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account:
'pop.mcihispeed.net', Server:
'smtpauth.mcihispeed.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 10053, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0F

It finally did it again and above is what the message said. Remember this is
the one where a new
message on OE was sent to the outbox without sending, then I get the above
message when it tries to
hook up and send, then I just close OE and relauch and it sends then. Hasn't
done it for quite
awhile, until today.

Avast ye land lubbers!
One bear and no pirates found in this outbound vessel
