Do you have your Antivirus program set to scan outgoing mails, if so turn it off outgoing scans and see if this resolves the matter. This does seem to be a problem in particular with Norton Internet Security, see here: http://search.symantec.com/custom/update/query.html?filter=all&qt=0x800CCC0F&nh=10&hitsceil=100&st=1&context=hho&x=11&y=6 The intermittent problems are the worst and usually suggest server problems but you could perhaps work your way through the check list on the first link above. Also take a look here, there is a similar problem listed towards the bottom of the page and Norton seems to be the culprit. Remember this is the one where a new message on OE was sent to the outbox without sending, then I get the above message when it tries to hook up and send, then I just close OE and relauch and it sends then.
