My two cents worth.  If you don't want to worry about whether it is 
the legitimate Microsoft web site, NEVER CLICK ON ANY LINKS FROM 
EMAIL.  ALWAYS GO TO THE MICROSOFT WEBSITE, WWW.MSN.COM OR 
WWW.MICROSOFT.COM, AND CLICK ON THE WINDOWS UPDATE.  That way, you 
can be sure you are getting the real thing.

I get email all the time from web sites that are suppost to be the 
legitimate Microsoft website, but never click on the links.  I only 
needed to be burned once for clicking on the provided link of what I 
thought was the Microsoft web site, and learned my lesson the hard 
way.  Now I sign in to Microsoft and get my updates and download and 
have never experienced any problems. Hope this helps.
