Owners of each group have the prerogative to set up their group to receive and send only the type of mail they want. Since viruses are thought to be transmitted via attachments or HTML but not text EMail many group owners restrict their group to text messages only in an attempt to keep their members free of viruses. Yahoo groups will be run allowing attachments or not allowing depending on the settings made by the owner. In the Groups not allowing attachments you will see the line I quoted. To test yourself, send an URL to yourself (not through the group) and I am pretty sure you will receive it live. Try a simple one ie. _www.msn.com_ (http://www.msn.com) or try sending to the group with a copy to yourself.
