I've just bought a new Laptop. Sam's club, no money down, no payment for 6 months, no interest, and satisfaction guaranteed for 6 months. This is a mid-priced unit $1329.00, 17 in screen 3.4 Gh. 80 GH hard drive, Photo card slots, and it's got a DVD "super drive", Ram and all. Comes with 7.5 Gig software to make it work. It's not a portable. Weights almost 10 pounds. It is a desktop substitution. But what a machine! Great for a M/H life style. With all the card slots and internal DVD and Ram burner I can leave some wires and peripherals behind. But no more parallel, serial or mouse port or floppy but it has the tiny one for digicams. And man is it fast! Comes with some terrific OEM software that will take me forever to learn. Found the DSL without any input from me. Already knew the right time, already had AOL. Just needed my username and password. and needed a download of the free McAfee security center. The AOL security wizard stepped in and recommended some XP security changes and then fixed them automatically. The Symantec recovery DVD is different than my last one because it recovers only the "C" drive or partition and does not change the data partition. I had an XP pro application CD that probably was installed on my old PC and I installed it easy as a second OS and surprisingly it did not ask for Activation. Has MS stopped keeping track? So, I have a dual boot system and will use one for Internet only. All in all, looks like a keeper. By the way it is a Toshiba P35 also available from the Toshiba Web site for $1599.00 with no shipping and a choice of $200.00 in free hardware peripherals. And no I don't work for Toshiba. Bye
