Emile: I have had to reinstall to OS several times over the last few years to repair problems caused by odd random issues. It has never allowed me to do a repair installation. I did one on XP for a friend's system once and know how's it's done. I tried again this morning just because and it still would not let me.
I did some more research around the net and found a possible solution, which appeared to have worked, but I thought was odd since this problem has never once came up in the past before, and should of if it's true.... I read in an article for another mail program called Thunderbird that after you delete old messages or move them, there is a hidden file that remains in the folder still (this I knew). It said that the folders need to be Compacted now and then to prevent certain problems from starting up with the mail software. I dug around in Outlook for a bit and found that Compact option there also. It seemed to work. The problem is gone for now. It's odd though, since I have never once Compacted the files in the past and have had absolutely no problems at all. My last system crash was back in June because of a hardware problem, but before that, the last crash had been more than a year before, with Outlook being used constantly every single day, and it's strange this problem never once happened during all that time. Anyways, wanted to share the solution at least, in case anybody else out there is having some problems with their mail programs too...
