Hi Peppermint >>Actually I do not have Syst Restore active
This Symantec link explains what hyperlinker is, what is installed on your system and how to get rid of it: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.linkmaker.html There are a couple of things you could try before you consider making changes to the registry. Firstly have a look at what programs are loading at startup and disabling anything to do with Hyperlinker / linkmaker. There is a nice little free program here that will provide you with details of what you have loading at startup (courtesy of Mick) http://www.processpatrol.com/ Secondly, you could open the MS Anti spyware tool, check for updates and run a scan of your system. Then click on Advanced Tools or Tools>Advanced Tools and you will see two options, Browser Restore and System Explorers. Try the Browser Restore option first, it lists all the Internet Explorer settings, what they may have been changed to and an option to restore the defaults. The System Explorers shows you what processes are enabled at startup and other information, it identifies the processes and provides you with the options to block, permanently remove or learn more about the program.
