It sounds like you have your screensaver to activate after 5
minutes and then you have your power management
            settings set to shut off the screen after 10 minutes.  If you
are using both of these do not use the power management
            in the BIOS!  I have found that if you use all three of these
the system will lock up then you will have to power down your
            system to get to come back up.

  Standby doesn't seem to be working right on my computer with Win XP
  Home.  If I turn it on standby and later come back to the room, it's
  awake.  Sometimes the screen is dark, sometimes it's got the windows
