Thanks, Janet. It comes out of standby. When it's in standby, the computer is silent and there is an orange light that shows where I turn the computer into standby mode. When it comes out of standby, the light is blue and you can hear the power.
When the windows logo is floating around, it's not in standby. I appreciate your answer, though. Best wishes, Jan > Jan: I have something similar. The dark screen with the windows logo floating around is the standby. I have that at the point of my signing in before my settings are opened. I have XP Pro, but I wouldnt imagine Home is much difference there. If you are wanting a screensaver, to keep your work secret you need to go to Control Panel and Display in the usual way, and make sure you select the sleep time to your requirement. > > ------------------------ Yahoo!
