Hello. I am currently having problems installing my Promise Fasttrak
378 controller which is located on my ASUS A8V Deluxe motherboard. I
currently use 2 Western Digital hard drives, one is 10 GB another is
160 GB. In Windows XP 32-bit the drives detect and work fine. When I
start up the PC, the hard drives are listed in the BIOS and IDE
Control detection. When I installed Windows X64 Pro Build 3790, I
remember reading an article saying that in order for the ide
controller to work correctly, you need to press f6 to install a third
party driver during the windows 64 setup, which I did. I used the
Promise Fasttrak Beta driver located on the ASUS website. It detected
it in the windows setup, windows was installed, but when I went to my
computer the 2 western digital hard drives are not listed. I check
under the device manager and the drivers for the IDE controller were
listed. I then proceeded to do some research to see if it was even
supported and from what I have gathered it is but one source said that
the ASUS website drivers don't work and the Promise ones do. But when
I went to Promise's website I couldn't find any drivers for my model.
I currently only use the control to get access to both hard drives and
they are not setup as a RAID.

Can anyone give me any ideas of what I should try next or if I am
missing anything, or if there is even a website in which I could try
different drivers which are 64 for it.

Thank You

Jay
