Networking has always been a bit problematical for me. Most of the
time my network sets up fine, but occasionally not. Lately I've been
having a problem with one of the four comuters that I have set up. I
have XP w/SP 2 on all four machines. They all get on the internet
and do email fine, but not so, networking. I use ipconfig/all and
ping for testing the setup. In fact I have a batch file that looks
like this:

cls
ipconfig /all
ping 192.168.254.2
ping 192.168.254.3
ping 192.168.254.4
ping 192.168.254.5
echo FINISHED
pause

It shows me the IP address of the current machine and pings all
four, including itself.
ipconfig/all works fine on all machines, shoing that machines IP
address. Pining is where things fail.
The machine with the # 3 in the last IP group has the most problem.
Machine # 3 gets timeout errors on pings from all the other machines
AND itself. # 2 fails on self pings too too but pings from the
other machines do not time out.

Summery: All machines do Internet and email fine and show the
correct information when ipconfig/all is run from each machine.
Pinging works fine to each machine except # 3 which fails pings to
it from other machines and itself. # 2 fails self pinging but not
from the other machines.

Any netowrk experts here?

Jim
