I have over the years referred people to some of the shareware that
I use and have uploaded to various Yahoo Groups. But it occurred to
me that it would be better to simply list the URLs where these
programs may be downloaded. The items below show the URLs and a very
brief description of the programs. I will refer to this file from
now on [4.3.06] when I read an email with a problem that might be
solved by one of these programs. Let me know if you have any
problems with one of these programs, be sure to name the program.

STARTUP problems, use the built in XP msconfig from the run line or
StartupCPL

Spell Checking: If you don't have MS Word or Works then OE cannot
spell check your messages. The program TINYSPELL will solve this
problem.

NOTETAB: I don't like the Windows Notepad, it can't handle large
files. One I like better is called NOTETAB,

POWER TOYS: From MS and From Karen Kentworthy
Power toys are utilities that will do things that the OS can't do,
or do them better. MS has a large set of such toys at the URL
below. [note copy both lines as one]

Karen Kentworthies Toys are free and cover a wide range of tasks.
The ones I use most often are:
Replicator, copies files from any source to any destination,
you create scripts for the paths and they be executed refularly.
Profiler displays just about everything you want to know about
your computer including software, hardware, etc. It's a bit like
those other programs but produces simple text output that you can
easily edit.
Show stopper: One click shutdown or Reboot, with nice large
red ICON

        http://www.karenware.com/ Karenware.

Windows Media Player 10
        http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/default.mspx
XP SP2 If I have to run rescue disks on my computer I can update to
SP2 without a long download. If you have a recent version of XP you
won't need this.

Add Remove 4 Good. I like it better than the one in CPNL
