I few weeks ago I wrote about a problem with my netowrked computers,
only one would go on the ineternet. I managed to fix the problem
with hints from Yahoo computer help groups. Yesterday I had another
problem, this with only one of the computers. And I managed to fix
this one without resorting to the Geek Squad and even without help
from computer groups.

My second newest computer started quitting on boot up, it wouldn't
even go into the bios or F8 mode. I wondered what was going on,
never had a computer that was that messed up. Nor could I boot to A
floppy or to a recover CD. What could cause this. I had a hint, I
had installed an old hard drive as a slave. So I took the cover off
the machine, then disconnected the second drive. Wow, that was it.
The old drive, only 20 G, it was that old, had apparently died. It
died enough so that it was messing up the IDE interface.

Thought that this might be inetesting. Hard drives can cause
problems tha6t affect the whole interface.
