Strange BIOS Raid SATA problem!!!
==========================================
How do get my DELL to boot from a SATA drive?
The DELL Dimension 2350 system
will some times boot Windows XP from the SATA drive.
However most of the time
I have go to the Boot Menu(F12)
and select "Hard-Disk Drive C:"
This will boot Windows XP from the SATA drive.
The SATA drive is connected via
PCI Adaptec Serial ATA RAID 1210SA card.
There is no IDE Hard drive.
I updated the BIOS to version A02.
After I updated the BIOS,
the system booted Windows XP (Four(4) times)
from the SATA drive.
After booting four(4) times, I then had use the
Boot Menu(F12) and select "Hard-Disk Drive C:"
I then tried changing the Boot.
1st Boot drive [Floopy]
2nd Boot drive [CDROM]
3rd Boot drive [Disabled]
4th Boot drive [Disabled]
Note: The is no IDE Hard drive.
Hard Disk Boot Priority:
Bootable ADD-in cards.
Note: The PCI Adaptec Serial ATA RAID 1210SA card
is Bootable ADD-in card.
I have DELL Dimension 2350 with
Pentium IV 1.8GHz cpu, 512MB of memory
and 120GB SATA drive.
How do get my DELL to boot from a SATA drive?
Thank You
