Something I might actually be able to help with! If someone's mentioned this already, please ignore.
When I had Norton System Works 2006, I had the same problem, but I do not recall what files it said I was missing. They were dll's. I googled to find out what they were. Turns out this is a problem with Norton. A gentleman from Microsoft posted to several forums that you should not download the files and place them or copy them into where Norton says they should be. Instead you should use the ignore feature. Doing so could possibly cause problems, especially after updating. I did not check the gentleman out personally, but I noticed where some people did, and from what they found he does work at Microsoft. I chose to leave the files alone (they were findable in a search of my Home XP, just not where Norton said they should be), and used the ignore feature. Several weeks later, Norton did not detect and/or deal with a virus, and I had to have my computer in for repair for a few days. I no longer have Norton, but Trend Micro, with SpySweeper for antispyware. Aside from possibly slowing things down a bit, which I can deal/live with, I really like this combo. My advice is to be extra cautious about dealing with Norton 2006's report on the system fix report. You may not really need to do anything.
