Hi,
I recently changed to high speed internet with Quest and now have a
wireless modem/router that I use with my laptop which is a Dell xps
m1210. I have contacted Dell to inquire about increasing my wireless
distance which is about 100 feet. I was hoping that with the use of
high gain antennas / repeaters / traveling routers, etc I could
possibly get as much as a mile out of my wireless system. The Dell tech
person bailed on me with no useful info at all. They didn't know a
thing about it. On the other hand, I have been told by computer tech
personnel at my job that long distances of over a mile is possible with
the right equipment. My problem is that I can't find anyone who knows
exactly what the right combination of equipment is for my system. Also,
I do not wish to set up a mobile internet system. These are much too
expensive. Any informantion/insight is appreciated.
