[:)] Hello all [:)]

After all the talk about passwords you may care to note the following:

I mentioned the hidden administrator account in XP (this Built-in
account is for administering the computer/domain), I think Barry replied
with something that went above my head recently. But I have done a bit
more research: apart from booting into safe mode and typing
Administrator as the user and pressing ok. This may not work on all
Windows XP Pro machines where you may have startup with the "Welcome
Screen" (where you select your username), press CTRL+ALT+DEL twice in a
row there (after rebooting) and type in the username "Administrator" and
try no password. I wonder if that would have worked for (Lebo) Mick's
friends?

1. Make sure all the accounts on your computer(s) have strong passwords.

2. Allow no blank passwords

3. Never tell people any of your passwords, and if you suspect anyone
may know any of these, change them.

4. Change your passwords frequently.

5. Set a password for the hidden administrative account in XP. To see
if a password is set for this and other accounts through the control
panel, but I don't think you can do it where an account is hidden, In
which case you can also do this through:
   Start button --> RUN -->(type)  control userpasswords2 -->(click)  OK.
Select the user in question and click on the "reset password" button.
Make sure you include the hidden administrators account, if you can't
remember a lot of passwords just remember one and consider some free
software:

Just out of interest would anyone like to comment on the ASP.NET machine
account? I think it's benign.

Heres a laugh [:D] a few nights back I found the jolly old "control
password2" and was able to help someone that was working on a machine
where the Users account screen was blank. Now I can't avoid references
to it, then Renegade mentioned it, and now its cropped up again. I
suppose everyone else knew of it for ages LOL. [:o)]
