Hi all:

Shortcuts are magical little files that when clicked on will get you from
one place to another. There are two Kinds. URLs that will get you to a WEB
site. LNKs that will get you from one place to another on your computer.
Either one can be created and named using the "Shortcut Wizard" found in the
XP Right click menu. Both use the same application. URLs need to be
accurate web addresses. LNKs need to be accurate Computer file or folder
names.

What makes them magical is that once they are created they work everywhere,
they can be E-Mailed, they can be moved anywhere or copied and stored on
anyone's computer. Someone said they were HTML but they are E-Mailed as
attachments. And some will be stripped by certain groups. For groups
that allow
them URLs or LNKs can just be dragged into the E-Mail to be included. You
can store 1000 or more on a floppy.
My sndvol32 icon will open anyones Volume.

A while back someone in this group could not find he Volume control. Well
the volume control LNK Icon can be placed on the Desktop, in a file or in a
folder anywhere on a PC. The Volume Control Program can be found in
Windows\System32\sndvol32. You can create a shortcut by right clicking the
sndvol32
app. Using the Shortcut wizard the sndvol32 Icon can be created to the
desktop where it can be used to open the volume control.

I have included a sndvol32.lnk live Icon with this message Those who don't
get it can use the wizard or they can get it by typing sndvol32 in the
"Run" command.

Emile
