hey alevve6 its zxor38...NO! you not dreaming she can get his ip 
address and you did go to a tech school however all tech schools do 
not have the latest in technology as your statementy pointed out ..now 
from your prespecive of changing the ip addy all you do is chanfge it 
from within the router which has an ip typed into the url..aka search 
bar
 once inside the router look around in the seetings control pannel and 
read everything till you find there what you looking for  ..this is in 
thye class of ...SELF TAUGHT 101..hahha just kidding but really inside 
there you should be able to configue the ip from that end ..however DO 
NOT CHANGE THE ROUTERS IP THERE SEPARATE..ip addresses..like for 
example 192.168.1.254 is a router ip from the isp as to 192.168 .1.77 
is a workstation ip address... Using this example will help guide you 
in to want you want ...gpod luck and happy hunting
