Somehow or other we got into this discussion through the
back door and it seems to have snowballed.

Hi Walter:
I agree with you and I guess I started it, BUT, the important ISSUE with
my post was to keep from creating duplicate file names. When you are playing
with three Computers and three external backup drives it is easy to forget
that you may have created folders using identical file names, and that is
what
causes problems.

For an example..........I have several accounts I use in this paperless
world, and I keep monthly statements for each. For instance Dishnet and
Verizon. I don't necessarily access these accounts on the same PC each month
but
at some point I need to synchronize my data files. I can't remember, and
don't want to remember, what I did , or did not do, last month, SO, I
serialize all my files and folders,by placing the file date and I never need
to
worry. I also said when I do a search, once in a long time, it helps, But
that
was not the subject I wrote about.

Some people will not accept a simple suggestion, and must criticize
everything that is said, and it has become a bit of a bother. I hope others
have
noticed. Since this went off track, I tried to keep out of it, and this will
be
the last I say on the issue. Bye

Emile,
