One of the great things about Windows is that there are so many ways
of doing things, like starting programs. Windows comes with a number
of useful programs, but some of them yoiu may not use very often. And
when you want to use them you have to do the old Start> All Programs>
Accessories. Then click the program that you want to run, or select
the group. Of course you can easily create a desktop shortcut
programs that you may want to run occasionally but that could fill
the desktop with shortcut icons.
Here's a way to run some of those Windows programs by simply typing
the program name after pressing the Windows key pluse R. Here's a
list of some of the program names that you need to type. The ones
whos corresponding programs are not obvious have the program names
listed after them.
wordpad
mspaint
explorer
tourstart Windows Tour
mobsync Sync
notepad
cmd go to the command line
calc calculator
wab address book
If you lose this list and need tha correct program name, just click
the the start sequence in line three above. Then right click the
program you want to run, which will show the program name. You only
need the part after the last / [right slash] If you prefer to
create shortcuts instead use the whole path for each program.
