Yeah, the first thing is to be sure you're plugged into the mic socket.
Normally there'll be 3 sockets in a horizontal line. One is for speakers
- and you've already got your speakers plugged in and they are working.
So that leave 2 empty sockets.
Blue is usually the line-in jack, and Pink is usually the mic jack (like
someone else already posted).
So try pink first.

You've probably already checked this, but in Control Panel's "Sound"
category you'll find all the volume sliders that control the various
audio options on the PC. Most sound drivers have 3 sliders for input
device: mic, line-in, and aux (also sometimes called by another name
like "mixer").
Just be sure that "mic" is the one with the check mark.

Also under Control Panel's Sound category you should find the properties
utility for your sound chip. This will have various tabs - pick the one
called "Audio" or "Voice" and be sure that the correct device is chosen
for all the voice and recording options. The correct device would be
your actual sound card or chip which is listed in Device Manager under
the Sounds category.

Also, what program are you trying to use your mics with? There may be a
setting in that program's "preferences" section to select an input device?

You've prob already done the above but just thought I'd mention it as a
place to start troubleshooting.
Good luck,
Donk
