They do have XP drivers for that old iomega Donk and she got them from the
Iomega site. 

Your direction should pint her in the right direction to find the connection

Did you say your zip drive had a parallel port interface? Yeah that's 
really old technology - but it might still maybe work with XP if you 
found XP drivers for it? If so, install the drivers first. 
Then go to Device Manager and look under the "Ports" category. You 
should see an LPT port listed there (also called the printer port). 
Verify that it says it is working properly. 
If it still isn't recognized in My Computer you might have to change the 
resources for the LPT port. Go back into Device Manager and click on 
the Port again. This time click on the "Resources" tab. There are 2 
things you can try: 
1. put a check in the circle for "Use any interrupt assigned to the 
port". Reboot and see if the drive is recognized. 
2. put a check in the circle for "enable legacy plug-n-play detection". 
Reboot and see if the drive is found. 

As long as you found the right XP drivers for the drive it should work ok.
