Your direction should pint her in the right direction to find the connection Ian -------Original Message------- From: Donk Date: 14/08/2008 22:40:40 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [A-1-Computer_Tech] Re: Iomega Zip Drive Did you say your zip drive had a parallel port interface? Yeah that's really old technology - but it might still maybe work with XP if you found XP drivers for it? If so, install the drivers first. Then go to Device Manager and look under the "Ports" category. You should see an LPT port listed there (also called the printer port). Verify that it says it is working properly. If it still isn't recognized in My Computer you might have to change the resources for the LPT port. Go back into Device Manager and click on the Port again. This time click on the "Resources" tab. There are 2 things you can try: 1. put a check in the circle for "Use any interrupt assigned to the port". Reboot and see if the drive is recognized. 2. put a check in the circle for "enable legacy plug-n-play detection". Reboot and see if the drive is found. As long as you found the right XP drivers for the drive it should work ok. Good luck, Donk [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ If you have any questions or problems with any aspect of this site, please feel free to contact me directly [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please do not post personal issues directly to the group.
