A-1-Computer_TechThe default IP address for the Linksys router is 192.168.1.1
which you would enter into Internet Explorer or your browser. Then it asks for
your User Name and Password. If you know these you can enter then change the
settings as required. Somebody once hacked my wireless settings which had not
been protected - I just phoned my ISP helpdesk & they put me right. Maybe you
could do the same?
Hope this helps.

Thank you to all that responded to my question. Please let me
clarify. I would like to know what the difference is between the
password and passphrase on my wireless modem. (Linksys) I'm very
confused by wireless and don't understand it (even though I managed to
get it working fine) I want to change my password to make it longer
but I don't know how to access it. And I don't know how to access the
passphrase either. I know I had to enter both of these during the set
up process but don't know how to change now.

    Thank you

I am not sure what you want now. I sent you an explanation about the
difference between Password and Passphrase. Do you have a modem or wireless
router? Are you now asking how to set up a wireless network, if so go here.

If you are wanting to to change a security passphrase you need to log into
your router Website. It should tell you where and how in your Linksys manual
