My response was to get Norton Ghost and then clone the C partition to a spare other partition on the drive. That has worked fairly well. Hi: I've extracted my XP MCE installation files from my Gateway Laptop OEM recovery Setup and created a bootable XP installation DVD, and, slipstreamed SVCPACK3, and, integrated my Microsoft key onto a DVD. Now I can do a "Windows in-place reinstallation" (Otherwise known as a "Repair Reinstallation"), and I can get into the "Windows Recovery console" directly from my new DVD. No more use for the OEM recovery setup, and I may not do images anymore. The program I like is "nLite' and there is a program for Vista, vLite.
