Contiguous file as those files that are on the hard drive in one continues length.
That is the opposite to fragmented files which parts of the file are scattered all over the disk wherever there is available space. Files change to contiguous when you de-fragment the disk. Contiguous files can be read by the computer faster than fragment files as the hard drive heads are not having to seek all the parts of the file data.
