boot up prob after new & old ram tried, wked fine b4 new ram tried
about every 6 boot up attempts, this message appears "reboot & select
proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and
press key"
About every 4th or 5th boot up attempt, i get a chance to select safe
mode automatically or safe mode with prompts, previous stable
configuration and one other safe mode option, I believe.
I have tried safe mode, still shuts off, as well trying previous
stable configuration.
It won t stay on long enough to do anything!
My friend thinks maybe the master boot record got corrupted possibly
with trying the new ram and suggested I google "repair corrupted mbr
(master boot record) xp.
I will try that but will ck also with some experienced builders.
I wonder if I need an xp disk? The motherboard disk has not
activated when I have inserted it.
