Jim, use CCleaner. You go to Tools, then Startup. Make your changes there. It 
works well in Vista!

            Until recently I have been poo pooing all the negative Vista

because they are just bad press. But I have found one Vista feature 

that I don't like. It has to do with turning off start up items. I use 

StartupCPL to do this. But with Vista when I uncheck an item it 

immedialy is copies and checked, this happens with any item. I do not 

like being forced to run start up items that way. I suppse that there 

is some other way to stop start ups, but I don't know what it is.
