Jim, with all due respect, are you making a statement or a comment. I thought that Larry [Member] had posted the "Query"? Nevertheless, you / anyone can name a Network whatever you want, just as long as they all [Computer / Laptop / Cellphone, etc....] have the same Network name, see each other, and are able to Transfer Data, Files and so on. Meanwhile, all of my Systems [XP / Linux Mint / Vista] are Networked along with Windows 7 Beta, and all is well. However, I do see that you are having a Networking issue. Would you care to try the resolution above? Thank you, Ivan [Lucid Geek]

I generally use 'Workgroup' as the common network name, since it IS a workgroup. If I recall the first thing one comes to when creating a Network Place is MSHome Network. My two PCs now are running other than XP and so I can't find 'open a network place' on either one. One PC is Vista, the other is Windows 7. :-) Jim [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ If you have any questions or problems with any aspect of this site, please feel free to contact me directly [email protected] Please do not post personal issues directly to the group.
