First, are you 100% sure the volume on your speakers is not turned all the way down or muted?
Then, be sure that Windows volume control isn't turned down or muted: Go to Control Panel, Sounds and Audio, click each tab and look for volume controls. Just be sure they aren't muted. If all that doesn't help, try reinstalling your sound drivers. Go to Start, Run, type DEVMGMT.MSC to open Device Manager. Click the category for Sound/Video Controllers. Find your audio device. It's not "Codecs", and it's not "Legacy", it'll have a name like Realtek, or Soundblaster, etc. Right-click it and choose "uninstall". Click OK and reboot. As Windows starts you'll see a message like "Windows has found new hardware and will install the drivers for it". Wait until you see a message "your new hardware is installed and ready to use". Hopefully that'll fix it. Not sure why IE8 would've caused the prob, but stranger things have happened, heh. Good luck, Donk On 8/10/2010 12:24 PM, D H wrote: > I am adding to my message.
