Yes, there are various ways to save streaming video. I'm guessing you want to save the Miley Cyrus YouTube vids? Saving the vids from a site like NBC.com is possible, but it can be pretty complicated - having to delve into your browser's cache and manually search for the anonymous file. But for YouTube type sites try going to the vid you want, highlight the URL, then press Control/C to copy the URL. Now go to this site: http://keepvid.com/ and click in the URL box. Then press Control/V to paste the URL into the box. You'll get some options about which format you want to save the vid as. Choose one of the .FLV options. You can then choose to Save the file (as opposed to "opening" it). After it's downloaded, just click it. Usually Windows Media Player will play the video without any problems.
If that doesn't work, repost. There are other options to save the vids - but this is one of the easiest. BTW - I doubt that those Miley YouTube videos will be going anywhere soon. They'll prob be around for years.
