I have a Maxtor backup but I know those drives can also go bad and If I
have fire in my house or something-I am screwed
So i was also thinking of using online backup services-but I dont really
care for that so much
So how does the idea of just "saving" the files to yourself via email and
saving the emails as backup?
What does anyone think about that?

Hi Catrina:
AOL is a browser and an e-mail client in one. It also has UNLIMITED
online storage for e-mails. There are others. I never counted but I probably
have well over 2000 messages saved to AOL online over the last ten years or
more and they are still there. If someone sends me pictures or bank
statements or order receipts, they are saved online AOL. And, AOL can be had
for
FREE.
If I have stuff that would not normally be e-mail but I want to
protect it, I simply e-mail it to myself. One can use the AOL search to find
any of those saved messages. Some other ISPs set a limit on saved e-mails
but those that don't are a pretty good deal. The $11 paid version also
provides malware protection and I have never had a virus with AOL, ever.
Seldom
get any spam either because it gets removed before I see it. I also never
seem to get any of the problems associated with IE or Firefox and I don't
appear to be missing anything either. I prefer to keep things simple and
uncluttered.
This is my opinion only but I've been at this a long time, like
maybe twenty five years.
Online backup is only as good as the company that does the backup. When
they ain't there, neither is your stuff. Bye
Emile
