First thing to try would be a System Restore to a date prior to the problem. Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, system restore. You won't lose any data. Just follow the instructions.
If that fails... You could try deleting the drivers for the pad from Device Manager, then reboot and let Vista reinstall them. Start, type Devmgmt.msc in the search box. I think the pad will be listed under the category Mouse and Pointing Devices (or similar). Just highlight the pad, right-click, and choose Remove/Uninstall. Then reboot and be sure to let Vista finish installing before doing anything - you'll see a message "your new hardware is installed and ready to use". If that all fails repost. Good luck, Donk On 11/15/2010 10:25 PM, theowl48 wrote: > I have a Compaq with Vista. My cursor jumps around on the screen when I am > using the track pad. Anyone else have this problem?
