According to Gateway's specs on your PC model those DIMMs will work 
fine.  You shouldn't have a prob with the heat spreaders.  The CPU fan 
sometimes will be in the way, but on your mobo the DIMM slots are far 
away from the CPU - so there shouldn't be a problem.

That said, in my experience sometimes even though you have the exact RAM 
stated in the manual, the mobo won't recognize it. If this happens to 
you be aware that Newegg charges at least a 15% restock fee for a 
refund.  Of course, that's only about $5 on your DIMM kit.  You might be 
able to talk them outta the fee too.
But hopefully it'll pop in and work just fine.  :-)
You can go to Crucial.com and look up your Gateway and they'll show you 
what RAM specs you can use.  Their price for a 2GB set is about $44 though.
BTW - your board maxes out at 2GB.
