Hi Donk and Group... Sorry for the late response. Been away and not able to respond timely.
I do have the service manual and tried to follow the troubleshooting flow-chart. I can get as far as a step which involves a proprietary IC and other part. It appears that the positive steps stop at this point, but I can't seem to find what the part actually is, since it has a house number. I do have a working 8000A, without the low ohms option, but am hesitant to sub the IC with the one from the good unit. Another member of another group inquired about whether the digit was only one of if the "-1" appeared in all of the digits. I should clarify that the indication of "-1" is only in the far left digit position. In addition, another member of another group suggested I simply go to eBay and watch for one since cost for one there is around $50.00. I will check there. I must certainly admit the troubleshooting instruments is far from the procedures in the analog audio service areas. I appreciate all the comments. Happy Holidays to all. Here's a link to their support website: http://www.fluke.com/fluke/usen/support/ default.htm Try clicking the "Fluke Community" and then click "Test Tool Talk". There's a support forum there, and it seems like it is fairly active. Ask your question there. They also have a tech support phone number - not sure it's free: Product tech support: 1(800) 44-FLUKE (1(800) 443-5853) Good luck, Donk On 11/14/2010 4:46 PM, techbear_mn wrote: > Hello Everyone... > > Having not been able to locate a Fluke only group I thought I might > pose a question about a failure that I have not been able to resolve. > > I have a Fluke 8000A - Option 06 (Low Ohms)which has failed.
