There are various methods to partition and format a new drive. The easiest way is from within Windows Disk Management utility. Just plug in the BlacX, then plug a hard drive into it. Go to Start, and right-click My Computer. You should see the unpartitioned drive listed there. Right-click the drive and choose "Manage". This will open the Disk Manager. You'll see all your drives listed. The new drive with show as being 'Unallocated'. Just righ-click the drive and choose Partition from the menu. Just follow the instructions to create your desired partitions. After partitioning just format the partitions as NTFS file system. Here's a link to a PDF document for the BlacX that explains it all in step-by-step form. http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?S=1268&ID=1642#Tab4
